Echoes of Creation – Version 1.1.5.0 Patch Notes

Update 1.1.5.0 focuses on adding polish to the current endgame experience, adjusting the balance of outlier abilities, improving the auto-extraction system, and more.

1 Endgame

1.1 Crucible Keys

The goal of the Crucible key system is to create a smooth balance between progression and character power gain. Currently, however, the low drop rate of keys, especially in higher Nexus tiers, causes endgame progression to mainly be locked behind key drops instead of character power. In order to solve this, the drop rates of Crucible keys of higher tiers have been improved substantially, and the likelihood of hitting an unlucky streak has been removed with a pity system.

  • Added a pity system to Crucible Keys, which causes a key to be guaranteed after a certain number of unsuccessful attempts. This change effectively also improves the drop rates across all key tiers
  • Adjusted the base drop rates of Crucible Keys, lowering the chances for the lowest tiers to adjust for previously mentioned buffs, and further increasing them for keys of high tiers. For keys obtained in tier 10 of the Nexus of Creation, this adjustment results in a 40% increased key drop chance
  • 25% more Crucible Keys gained from offline rewards

1.2 Endgame Rewards

Currently, the scaling of offline rewards is not consistent with the expected growth in a character’s power as it progresses through Nexus tiers, resulting in a growing gap between rewards gained from active play versus rewards from offline progression. To address this issue, the scaling of offline rewards in the endgame has been adjusted to more accurately reflect a character’s farming capabilities. Beyond this change, the bonuses to experience and arcana gain within both the Nexus and Crucible of Creation have been reduced to partially compensate for the significantly increased rewards gained from the changes to offline rewards and Crucible keys.

  • The magnitude of offline rewards now scales more naturally in the endgame, resulting in a relative buff to rewards gained with each Nexus tier. As an example, for characters who have cleared tier 10 within the Nexus of Creation, this change results in three times the offline rewards gained when compared to before
  • Reduced the multiplier to experience and arcana gain in the Nexus of Creation by 13% in all tiers
  • Reduced the multiplier to experience and arcana gain in the Crucible of Creation by 33% in all floors

1.3 Other Improvements

  • After completing a floor in the Crucible of Creation, it is now possible to either repeat the current floor or to advance to the next floor without being forced to return to the Shrine
  • The Crucible of Creation now displays the current floor during combat
  • Within the Nexus of Creation, the Nexus modifiers now also display the chance to obtain a Crucible key on stage completion

2 Game Balance

In Echoes of Creation, large-scale balance reworks are reserved for specific updates such as 1.1.0.0 in order to allow for substantial shifts without negatively impacting existing characters. This includes full reworks of items, abilities, classes, the endgame, and more. Thus, while this update contains balance adjustments to abilities and some unique items, it mainly focuses on numerical changes to significant outliers, while a larger and more complete balance overhaul will be done in the future.

2.1 Abilities

The following changes intend to bring the largest outlier abilities closer together.

  • Blazing Radiance
    Now deals 1% more fire damage per 50 combined current life and energy shield (from 1% more fire damage per 40 combined current life and energy shield)

  • Arcane Explosion
    Now deals 10% more damage per 40 sacrificed mana (previously per 50 sacrificed mana)

  • Static Lance
    Now deals 8-12 base damage (from 7-11)
    Now has an added damage multiplier of 100% (from 90%)

  • Flame Blast
    Now deals 7-9 base damage (from 6-8)
    Now has an added damage multiplier of 80% (from 70%)

  • Explosive Shot
    Now has a base damage multiplier of 60% (from 50%)

  • Shockfrost Arrows
    Now has a base damage multiplier of 100% (from 95%)

  • Cataclysm
    Now has a base damage multiplier of 165% (from 155%)

  • Glacial Shard
    Now grants +5% to critical damage multiplier per 1% effect of chill applied to enemies (from +4% to critical damage multiplier per 1% effect of chill applied to enemies)

As these changes contain a reduction in power to Blazing Radiance, leaderboard scores that have reached floors 51+ with this ability have been removed in 1.1.5.0. If you are affected, completing any floor within the Crucible of Creation in this update will place your character again.

2.2 Unique Items

The following changes intend to give a push to some of the build-defining uniques in order to make their usage more appealing. On existing items, the adjusted modifiers will be set to their new values at the existing degree of purity.

  • Tested Faith
    Now adds 4-7 local fire damage per 10 strength (from 4-6 local fire damage per 10 strength)

  • Leyweave
    Now grants +500-1000 accuracy rating (from 400-800)

  • Solspire
    Now deals 8-10 additional fire damage per 10 mana sacrificed when attacking (from 6-9 additional fire damage per 10 mana sacrificed when attacking)

  • Palescourge
    Now recovers 5-10% life on kill (from 2-7)

  • Shackles of Respite
    Now causes the wearer to take 10-40% increased damage (from 20-50)

3 Auto-Extraction

  • Unique items can now be viewed in the auto-extraction menu after they have been acquired once
  • Extraction settings can now be adjusted for entire non-unique item types by selecting an item type in the drop-down menu
  • The minimum purity threshold for unique items can now be set for all unique items of an item type, if each unique of that type has been acquired at least once
  • Improved the auto-extraction menu layout
  • Improved the auto-extraction tutorial

4 Other

  • Increased the base additional quality of synthesized items to 800% (from 200%)
  • Adjusted the save system, improving game performance for accounts with a high degree of progress
  • Improved the calculation speed of offline rewards

5 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the character class wheel would teleport when first touched on certain phone screen sizes
  • Fixed a bug which caused modifiers to item quality to have less impact than intended
  • Fixed a bug where the “Shroudborn” challenge failed when taking any damage, even if it was not from a hit
  • Fixed a bug where the description of the Curator challenge used incorrect wording

6 Ending Notes

While this update adds incremental improvements to several areas of the game, there are many, much larger changes coming in the future with update 1.2.0.0.
